Siri needs no introduction. Her voice is one we all know quite well, as if she were a friend or family member.
Apple has remained very quiet over the past few years as to who exactly is the face behind the voice but a recent interview with CNN’s Red Chair [watch below] revealed that Susan Bennett, Atlanta-based voice actress, is the voice we all know and love (for the most part).
"The Siri voices were recorded in 2005 in the month of July, four hours a day for the whole month. When I recorded those voices, I had absolutely no idea where they would end up,” said Bennett. Surprisingly, it wasn’t until 2011 when a friend purchased a new iPhone that she realized she was THE voice assistant.
Bennett is no stranger to hearing her voice in different places, such as Tillie, the first ATM as well as thanking passengers for choosing Delta at nationwide airports. However, she found the Siri experience “… a little creepy.” But now, she’s had a change of heart, “…she and I are friends now.”What would you think if you discovered your voice was Siri?
